Reliability Occurs at the Point of Decision
Speaker: Fred Schenkelberg
The reliability performance of a product or system exists because the decisions that occurred during the creation of the product establish how well an item will survive without failure. The choice of material or finish or technologies along with all the other decisions involved define how well a product performs, including its reliability.
The testing, analysis, study, reviews, etc done by reliability professionals do not directly create a reliable solution. The work we do provides information that, if used, influences decisions. It is by focusing on the key decisions that most influence the reliability of a product that we add the most value through our work.
In this webinar, let’s explore the relationship between reliability engineering and decisions, plus how we can best inform those decisions. Plus, let’s examine how to identify decisions that would benefit from the results of reliability engineering work along with a few examples of how to influence decisions across the organization.
