WHAT IS A STRATEGIC ASSET MANAGEMENT PLAN (SAMP)?

A Strategic Asset Management Plan is the approach your organization will follow to arrive at how you will ensure your operating assets perform as needed to achieve your organization’s goals. A SAMP document is the process and procedure you use to get the physical asset performance that gets the operating asset success you want.

You need plant, equipment, and machinery to make the products that your customers’ buy. Those same assets must also bring your company great success and profit. The process of how you will get your plant, equipment and machinery to meet all performance criteria is what is explained in your Strategic Asset Management Plan.

Be careful not to mix-up your Asset Management Plan (AMP) with your Strategic Asset Management Plan. An Asset Management Plan covers the actual engineering, operating and maintenance activities to be done to an asset. The Strategic Asset Management Plan explains how to determine what those activities will be—that is exactly what you get with the Plant Wellness Way EAM six-step ‘IONICS’ process.

Using the Plant Wellness Way EAM IONICS steps gives you and your organization an SAMP. You immediately get the complete strategy, methodology and tools to develop the AMP for each of your operating assets.

MAKING PLANT WELLNESS WAY EAM YOUR ISO 55001 STRATEGIC ASSET MANAGEMENT PLAN

Having a Strategic Asset Management Plan is vital to get ISO 55001 asset management system certification. The Plant Wellness Way EAM methodology makes a ‘perfect fit’ strategic asset management plan suited for your organization, and also for ISO 55001.

By using the Plant Wellness Way EAM methodology, your SAMP will be exactly what you need to bring your organization great success. And, it also ideally suits the ISO 55001 asset management system (AMS) requirements.
