podcast episode with speaker Fred Schenkelberg

Dick Moss, retired HP Corporate Quality and Reliability Manager, once mentioned there are really only five equations necessary to be a good reliability engineer. He quickly listed four equations and with a smile said the fifth one is the one you need to solve the current problem.

Dick understood that we need a wide range of formulas and equations to do our job. We need to fully understand a range of concepts as well. I do not know if there are just five essential formulas yet there are six essential concepts that we much understand.

Let's discuss a few formulas, understand the idea or concept they represent, and how to best use (or not use) the formula. Using a particular formula requires understanding the purpose, limitations, and assumptions involved. It also requires the knowledge that you are using the right formula.

What do you consider the essential formulas? Add your thoughts or questions when registering.
