Reliability Design Risk Summary
Abstract
Adam and Fred discussing tools for assessing risk to the products performance in the field
Key Points
Join Adam and Fred as they discuss tools for assessing risk to the products performance in the field
Topics include:
- Risk is the new Quality! What does that mean? Does it mean that no matter how hard we try to make a product perfect we can not project how it will perform without a comprehensive risk assessment?
- Adam has been using a new method called Reliability Design Risk Summary (RDRS). The tool came about when Adam found that he wanted DFMEA’s to fully capture the risk to performance from the three variabilities that feed poor performance, variability of manufacturing, variability of use, and variability of environment. The RDRS method is similar to the DFMEA method in format and technique. it differs in that it does encompass all risk or potential failure modes. It maintains a focus on failures due to variability of the big three, manufacturing, use, and environment.
